Amplifi’s executive chairman John Murray retires

John Murray, executive chair of Dentsu Aegis’ media innovation and investment arm, Amplifi, has decided to retire after eight years with the network.

“These are never easy decisions, but as we enter the next phase in the evolution of Dentsu, it feels like the right time to step back,” Murray said.

“I’d like to say a huge thank you – to my colleagues, to our partners and to the countless others who have made my time here so rewarding. Tim [Andree] has a fantastic vision for the future and I wish him – and everyone in the business – the greatest success.”

Prior to joining Dentsu, Murray held positions including managing director, digital at Mitchell Communication Group, and managing director of PHDiQ, a division of the PHD network.

He is to leave his position at the end of July to “spend time with his family, learn to horse ride and pursue his passion for writing”, but will continue to work with Dentsu as an advisor.

Tim Andree, executive chairman and chief executive officer of Dentsu Aegis Network, added: “I want to thank John for the huge impact he has made.

“His unique vision and approach to our global partnerships and media investment, combined with his strength of leadership, has created real differentiation for our business and value for our clients. He will be greatly missed, but we wish him all the best in this next stage of his life.”
