BBC Sees Off Big Brother With Hotel Babylon

Hotel Babylon BBC One’s Hotel Babylon saw off competition from terrestrial rivals last night, with an average adult audience of 5.3 million beating Celebrity Big Brother into second place.

Channel 4’s celebrity show notched up an average adult audience of 4.6 million in the same period, but was streets ahead in the 18-34 audience, with viewers numbering 1.9 million on average, compared with 994,000 for Hotel Babylon.

Elsewhere, ITV1 saw 3.6 million adults tune in to the second part of disaster drama, Eleventh Hour, securing third place in the evening’s viewing.

Five’s House saw a strong performance, as 2.5 million adults tuned in to the US medical series staring Hugh Laurie.
