Superbikes Channel 4 has secured the terrestrial rights to broadcast this year’s World Superbike championships, broadening its offering for sports fans.

The coverage will include programming around the race meeting, presented live from the site of each race. Each programme will include background information on the riders and teams, technical analysis of the bikes and tracks, as well as pre and post race interviews.

The coverage will be produced by TWI in association with Green Inc and presented by Jonathan Green and Fran Robinson.

The programmes will also feature guest reporters and a revolving panel of pundits, including former British Champion John Reynolds, Scott Smart and James Haydon.

Commenting on the broadcast rights, Channel 4’s head of sport, Andrew Thompson, said: “World Superbikes has always had a loyal and dedicated fan base in the UK. This year the championship is shaping up to be more exciting than ever before – with British riders as serious contenders. It is a sport on the way up, and I’m delighted that the drama and excitement of the events will be available to a terrestrial audience.”
