Chrysalis Widens Heart Into East Midlands

Heart Logo Chrysalis Radio has announced the imminent rebranding of recently acquired 106 Century FM, bringing the former Capital Radio station under Chrysalis’ Heart brand.

The move, planned for 26 August, will see 106 Century FM become Heart 106, following the station’s purchase from Capital Radio in the run up to its merger with GWR earlier this year (see GCap Begins Trading As Chrysalis Snaps Up Century).

The station’s rebrand will bring Chrysalis’ flagship Heart brand to the East Midlands for the first time, coinciding with the network’s 10th anniversary year.

East Midlands coverage will extend Heart’s presence across the entire Midlands region, joining 100.7 Heart FM in the West Midlands to provide an extra 330,000 listeners.

The combined transmission areas of Heart 106 and 107 cover approximately 5.25 million adult listeners, giving Chrysalis a massive broadcasting presence in the region, exceeded only by ITV’s Midlands operations, available to 8.9 million adults.
