EastEnders Wedding Special Gets 9.5m Adults

Eastenders A peak of 9.5 million adults (a 45.7% share) watched the hour-long episode of EastEnders last night on BBC One.

The wedding special had an average audience of 8.6 million adults (a 41.8% share) in its 7.30pm slot.

Over on Channel 4 It was the final part of hard-hitting drama Britz, with the controversial show picking up a peak audience of just 1.4 million adults (a 7% share).

The show, beginning at 9pm and running for two and a half hours, managed to get an average audience of 1.2 million adults, a 7.3% share.

Over on ITV1 at 9pm was The Whistleblowers, the commercial broadcaster’s drama series about what happens when some brave people decide to spill the beans on wrong-doers.

Last night’s barnstorming instalment had a peak of three million adult viewers (a 15.5% share of the audience) and an average of 2.8 million adults tuned in throughout its hour long running time.

As is now the norm, Thursday night is comedy night on BBC Two, with the double-bill of The Life And Times Of Viviennne Vyle and The Peter Serafinowicz Show being followed by The Graham Norton Show.

The Life And Times Of Viviennne Vyle, starring Jennifer Saunders, had a peak audience of one million adults (a 5.5%% share), whilst the The Peter Serafinowicz Show had a peak of 848,000 (a 4.5% share) in its 9.30pm slot.

On BBC One from 8.30pm to 9.30pm was Waterloo Road, which attracted a peak of 4.7 million adults (a 24.3% share).

The latest episode in the third series had an average of 4.6 million adult viewers.
