Four New DJs For Heart 106.2

Heart 106.2 Logo Heart 106.2 is shaking up its schedule in the new year, hiring four new DJs and launching a new show.

A new late night show, Heartbrakers, will launch, hosted by Simon Beale, while Matt Wilkinson, formerly of Nottingham’s Trent FM, will front the evening show in the 7pm to 10pm slot.

Wilkinson, who joins in February, replaces Paul Hayes, who will continue to present Club Classics on Friday and Saturday nights.

Natalie B will be joining the weekend line-up, with former model Abbie Eastwood presenting the 7pm to 10pm SDunday slot.

TV presenter Natalie Pinkham will host a new Friday show, Feelgood Friday airing from 4pm to 6pm.

Erlier this week, Heart announced that Emma B, its drivetime DJ, had signed a new contract and will be presenting a new Sunday afternoon show.

The latest RAJAR figures, for January to June 2007, show that Heart 106.2’s share of listening grew by 1.6 percentage points year on year to 6.2%, while its weekly reach grew 13.5% year on year to 1.9 million listeners (see Magic 105.4 Scoops London Top Spot With Over Two Million Listeners).

Heart 106.2 owner Global Radio had been one of the favourites to buy Emap’s radio division but was beaten last week by German publishing group H Bauer (see H Bauer Buys Emap’s Magazine And Radio Divisions).
