Internet and digital radio station GaydarRadio has announced a strengthening of its marketing team in order to cope with a recent increase in activity through its channels.
The station’s Paul Beardshaw will now become marketing executive as it continues its expansion programme, replacing James McCarthy who is moving internally to become Gaydar’s production executive.
Beardshaw’s remit in the new position covers all UK marketing and sponsorship events, with the first event in the new executive’s calendar being EuroPride 2006: The Gala at The Royal Albert Hall, on 2 July.
The reshuffle and impending expansion follows Gaydar’s increased sponsorship nationally and internationally this year, with the station receiving exposure at several high profile events, including Sydney Mardi Gras, and EuroPride.
Commenting on his appointment, David Muniz, commercial director at GaydarRadio, said: “We are very excited to be able to promote internally one of our rising stars, Paul has joined a very successful and busy team and I do believe he will be a large asset in his new role.”
Beardshaw added: “I’m very excited and proud to have been promoted to this position and I’m very happy to be working with Gaydar’s marketing director Trevor Martin having worked with him on many projects in the past. The rest of this year promises to be very busy with a number of large sponsorship deals in place to keep everyone busy through the summer, including the Europride Gala night at The Royal Albert Hall.”
