Global Broadband Subscriber Increase

The number of global broadband subscribers rose to over 221 million at the end of 2005, according to analysis released by Telegeography Research.

The figure grew from around 162 million from a year earlier, an increase of 37%. In 2003 the figure was nearer the 106 million mark.

Telegeography predicts that the total number of broadband subscribers will grow to 286 million by the end of 2006, before reaching 448 million in 2010.
