GMG appoints Virgin Media chief exec to board

Guardian Media group has appointed Virgin Media chief executive Neil Berkett as a non-executive board director.

Berkett joined Virgin Media’s predecessor NTL as chief operating officer in September 2005 before being appointed chief executive of Virgin Media in March 2008.

He has previously held senior positions at companies including Lloyds TSB and Prudential in the UK and at the Australian division of Citibank.
