Havas Enjoys Revenue Growth Of 3.9% In Q3 2005

French advertising group, Havas, has revealed organic revenue growth of 3.9% year on year in the third quarter of 2005 with revenues reaching €341 million, compared to €338 million in Q3 2004.

Havas attributes the strong results seen in the third quarter of this year to a good performance of traditional advertising activities and an improvement in marketing services.

Despite the growth enjoyed in Q3, Havas has revealed that revenue for the first nine months of 2005 totalled €1,041 million, compared to €1,086 for the same period in 2004, a 4.1% decline year on year.

v In the UK, organic growth during the third quarter was essentially flat at 0.1% and 0.3% for the first nine months of the year, while France saw a increase of 2.6% in Q3 and a rise of 0.9% for the year to date.

Organic growth for the rest of Europe was up by 2.3% for the quarter and up by 6.6% for the first nine months of 2005, a marked slowdown from the 8.5% seen in the first half of the year (see Havas Announces Tumble In Revenues For First Half Of 2005). Elsewhere, Havas also reported net new businesses of nearly €760 million for the first nine months of this year.

Commenting on the outlook for the rest of the year, the advertising group was optimistic, despite predicting a slowdown for the last quarter of 2005. Havas asserted that its main priority concerned regaining market share stating that that the Group needed to continue to build its recovery throughout 2006.
