Havas Reports Revenue Rise

Havas has reported a 3.6% year on year rise in revenue to €755 million (£596.8 million).

It also announced organic growth of 7.86% in the first half of the year.

The company, which owns ad agencies including Euro RSCG and media planning and buying network MPG, said that European countries such as Portugal, Italy and Spain reported growth above 10%, giving it revenues of €448 million (£354 million) in the first half.

Rodes Vila, the Havas Groupe chief executive, said: “We are now preparing for a more fragile economic environment, but our performance, which exceeded our expectations, leaves us comfortable about our ability to react.”

Growth in Great Britain “accelerated sharply in the second quarter despite the depressed market”, said Havas, while North America posted revenues of €234 million (£184.9 million).
