Former ITV commercial and marketing director, Jim Hytner, has been tipped to return to the broadcaster following Ian McCulloch’s decision to leave his commercial director role.
McCulloch will depart this summer after 27 years at the broadcaster, having been promoted to his current position in late 2005.
McCulloch’s resignation had been rumoured for some time as he was considered one of ex-ITV CEO Charles Allen’s hand-picked minions.
According to reports in the trade press, other contenders tipped for the post include Channel 4 sales director Andy Barnes and Sky Media managing director Nick Milligan.
As well as the management machinations, there have been rumours that BSkyB could be on the brink of selling back its 17.9% stake in ITV which it bought last year (see ITV Share Price Falls After BSkyB Acquires Stake).
