IPA And NABS Gear Up For Valentines

The Institute of Practitioners in Advertisers (IPA) has launched a Valentines message board raising money for NABS, the charity for the marketing communications industry, providing support for anyone working in advertising, design direct marketing, media planning, buying and sales, public relations and sales promotion.

Media folk can post a message on the IPA website for £5.00 and have the chance of winning a night at the De Vere Cavendish Hotel in central London, with champagne and breakfast. The voucher will be sent to the winning Cupid (providing they fill in their e-mail address when posting) and is valid for six months. The best message will also be printed in Campaign magazine.

People wanting to post a message simply go to the site, click on the ‘Post a message’ link and choose a cupid name. The message entered must not contain more than 25 words.

To reply to a Valentine’s message, just click on the reply link in any message, post your message, and hit Post Reply. Your message will then reach the Cupid Name indicated. If you, in turn, want to be able to receive a reply directly, enter an email address or you will remain anonymous.

The IPA Valentines Day initiative is the first of a number of new projects for 2005, with the aim to provide clients with not just strategic and creative answers to business problems, but also some industry fun.

Yesterday saw the IPA announce the winners of its BOB (Best of the Best Awards) to five agencies for consistently producing outstanding work throughout 2004. Amongst the winners were, OMD for Best Media Agency and Proximity London for Best Direct Marketing/Integrated Agency. The awards panel was chaired by Lord Bell, chairman of Chime Communications.
