IPC Appoints Mobile Boss For Brand Extensions

IPC Logo Magazine giant IPC has appointed Miles Ross as its new head of mobile development, with the newly created position charged with developing the publisher’s brands into mobile entities.

Ross joins the firm with a wealth of mobile experience, having worked on mobile content solutions for the past eight years in his role as a mobile technology consultant.

Commenting on the appointment, IPC ignite! managing director Tim Brooks said: “Mobile is a new but increasingly important channel for IPC’s brands. We have been working with Miles as an outside supplier, enabling mobile services on NME, Nuts and Loaded.

“It became clear to us that he possessed not merely the considerable technical expertise, but importantly the interpersonal skills which would enable him to lead these initiatives within this very creative environment. I am delighted he is joining us on a permanent basis, to accelerate work already under way.”

The new role will see Ross join IPC ignite!’s existing digital team. Looking forward to his new work, the mobile boss said: “There is vast potential for opportunity on the mobile platform. IPC, with its huge reach into the UK population, and its matchless proprietary content, is fantastically well placed to deliver for readers and advertisers alike.”

Earlier this year saw IPC reshuffle its new media management, appointing Kim Hollamby as its first head of electronic media at IPC Country & Leisure Media (CALM). The new position saw Hollamby taking overall responsibility for the strategic development of CALM’s internet operations, overseeing a leading portfolio of 41 web brands, including countrylife.co.uk, decanter.com, horseandhound.co.uk and webuser.co.uk (see IPC Appoints Hollamby As Head Of Electronic Media).
