ITV Confirms Senior Commissioning and Scheduling Line Up

ITV Logo ITV has confirmed its senior commissioning and scheduling line up, strengthening the network’s team of controllers, with the creation of several new roles at director level helping to consolidate the genre teams.

The management restructure will see Clive Jones assuming the role of chief executive for ITV News and Regions, while David Bergg will take up the position of director of programme strategy.

Nick Elliott has been appointed director of drama, while Mark Sharman will be the director of sport. The director of factual and daytime programming will be Alison Sharman, with Paul Jackson tasked with the responsibility of director of entertainment and comedy. The final change sees Jay Kandola assume the position of director of acquisitions.

Commenting on the reshuffle, Simon Shaps, ITV director of television said: “The new senior team is a well balanced mix of people with a wealth of experience of ITV and newcomers who will bring fresh ideas and talent to the network. I am delighted that we have been able to build such a strong team in a short time.”

The genre directors are now in the process of consolidating their teams, with the appointments in entertainment, factual, drama and comedy made shortly.

Shaps added: “We have come along way very quickly and I am delighted with the progress we have made. We are well on the way to filling the remaining roles in the team and look forward to announcing those appointments in coming weeks.”

ITV recently announced the appointment of Ben McOwen Wilson to the newly created position of strategy director. McOwen Wilson will join the broadcaster in March from Spectrum Strategy Consultants, where he is a partner, reporting to ITV chief executive Charles Allen (see ITV Signs New Strategy, Finance & Entertainment Chiefs).
