Metro Launches Monday In Brighton

Metro Free morning paper the Metro is to launch in Brighton on Monday, meaning that the title is now available in 15 UK cities.

The paper will be distributed on buses and at rail stations including Hove, Worthing and Lewes, and will carry the same content as the London edition.

The paper, developed in partnership with Medialab, a Brighton based publisher, will initially have a print run of 10,000 copies.

The Brighton edition of the Metro follows the launch of two free afternoon papers in the capital, Associated’s London Lite and News International’s thelondonpaper (see thelondonpaper Launches And The Free Newspaper War Begins).

Both paper’s are up against the Associated Newspapers title, the Evening Standard, which put its price up last week to 50p in an attempt to differentiate itself from the newcomers (see Standard Raises Price As London Lite Launches).
