Rupert Murdoch has proposed a merger between two separate parts of his media empire— News Corp and Fox Corporation — according to reports.
While the proposal is still in consideration, a merger deal would bring news publications such as The Wall Street Journal, The Sun, and The Times under the same corporate family as Fox News, Fox Business, and Fox Sports, among other properties.
Fox Corp and News Corp previously split in 2013, and in the years since, both companies have maintained that they are better off as separate entities.
The Boards of both companies have released statements saying they have created committees to consider the merger.
