New Marketing Director For Emap’s Kiss

Kiss Logo Emap’s Kiss has appointed former brand marketing director of Chrysalis Radio’s Galaxy Network, Nick Button, as its new marketing director.

Button will take up the newly-created position on 16 January, overseeing all of Emap’s Kiss marketing, creative and brand strategy planning, initially focusing on the London-based Kiss 100 before developing the network as a whole.

Commenting on the appointment, Bill Griffin, managing director of Kiss 100, said: “We have exciting plans for Kiss this year, aimed at strengthening its reputation as the most dynamic and progressive radio station in the world’s most exciting capital city.

“Nick’s extensive experience in the sector and intuitive understanding of the brand made him the ideal candidate for the job.”

Eager to take on the new role at Emap, Button added: “Kiss was the original innovator in dance music radio and grew to become the consistent number one station for young London. I’m looking forward to joining the Kiss team as it enters a new and exciting phase in its evolution.”

Button’s experience in radio is well documented, with eight years at Chrysalis Radio under the new Kiss director’s belt, five years of which were spent as brand marketing director carrying board level responsibility. Before joining Chrysalis, Button held senior marketing roles at Capital Radio, BBC Radio Two and Metro Radio Group.

The latest RAJAR results show Kiss losing listeners in significant numbers. Kiss 100 is shown shedding 10.7% from its weekly reach year on year in the third quarter, of 2005, leaving a total of 1.4 million, Meanwhile, Total Kiss saw a downturn of 7.3% in the same period, resting at 2.4 million.
