Nuts Bags Sponsorship Deal With Reality TV

Nuts Front Cover IPC ignite! has signed a six-figure deal to see weekly men’s magazine, Nuts, sponsor the Reality TV channel.

The deal will see the weekly title sponsor key Reality TV programming through the week, along with its peak Saturday evening schedule. Reality TV focuses mainly on real people caught in dramatic real-life situations, with Nuts branding due to feature on shows including Moronic 21st Century Idiots, Cage Combat, Ouch That Had To Hurt, Rodeo Wrecks and What Were You Thinking?

Nuts‘ sponsorship will include 5 15-second opening credits, 20 5-second break bumpers and 5 10-second closing sponsorship credits on the channel’s Saturday Zone, between 6pm and 11pm. The sponsorship will also include 30-second branded promotions on air, website links and integrated editorial.

Clair Porteous, senior marketing manager for Nuts, brokered the deal with Clare Dentith, marketing manager for Reality TV. Commenting on the deal, Porteous said: “This relationship makes perfect sense. Nuts is the most successful magazine for young men in a generation. It celebrates everything that they love – sport, news, TV, gorgeous women and true stories. The partnership with Reality TV allows us to make an even closer connection with our readers on a daily basis.”

Dentith added: “Reality TV has been searching for a partnership to support one of our most important prime-time slots and we are delighted to have found the perfect fit in IPC ignite!. Reality TV’s programming has always been popular and these high octane and incredulous shows will resonate well with Nuts‘ young, male readers and drive the demographics of our weeknight and Saturday slot forward.”

The sponsorship will run until 3 December. Meanwhile, the nation’s tabloid newspapers are believed to be increasingly nervy concerning the popularity of men’s weekly titles, with executives at the Sun believed to have banned all advertising of the weekly titles from its pages (see Men’s Weeklies To Put More Pressure On Tabloids).
