Publicis Enjoys Revenues Of €2.217 Million For 2005

French advertising group, Publicis Groupe has announced full-year revenues for 2005 reached €2,127 million, up by 7.7% year on year from 2004, seeing organic growth for the year close to $10 million.

The strong full year results are on the back of a strong fourth quarter for 2005, with revenues up 8.6% year on year, reaching €1,194 million.

Publicis’ growth has outpaced that of the market in all parts of the world in most areas of its business, with all geographical places, including Europe seeing strong growth in Q4 2005.

Net new businesses booked by group networks reached €1,3 billion for, setting the net total for 2005 at €7.8 billion.

Commenting on the group’s results, Maurice Levy, chairman and chief executive officer of Publicis Group said: “It is particularly satisfying to observe that our growth has outpaced that of the market in all parts of the world and in our businesses.”

Levy continued: “Our operating margin should beat our target and will be above the 15.1% booked on an IFRS basis in 2004.”

Looking towards 2006, prospects are favourable, with new accounts won in 2005 driving part of the growth expected in 2005. Firmer markets in France and Germany will offer additional support, while major sporting events including the Football World Cup and, to a lesser extent the Winter Olympics, will provide added impetus.
