Rajar restructures team as research director exits after 22 years
John Carroll: given new role of director of research and audiences

Rajar, the UK radio audience measurement service, has appointed two people to take over from long-serving research director Paul Kennedy who is stepping back after 22 years.

Kennedy will move to a role of technical advisor to the Rajar team, and John Carroll will become director of research and audiences.

Carroll joins from international research agency Gfk where was global business development director of audience measurement. Prior to that he was director for responsible for Rajar at Ipsos.

Charles Lawrie has also been promoted from survey research manager to research operations director to work with Carroll, and will be in charge of the delivery of the Rajar survey.

Both will report into Rajar CEO Jerry Hill and the changes will take effect in early October.

Hill said: “It was a very sad day when Paul announced his decision to stand down. RAJAR and the wider radio industry owes him a debt of gratitude for his part in how UK radio measurement has evolved.”
