Latest figures from the Advertising Association suggest that regional press ad revenue is set to fall by 0.8% this year, compared to the -0.2% decline forecast by the AA in October.

In July last year the outlook for regional press advertising was still relatively healthy compared to the rest of the advertising market. Many forecasts suggested that the nature and reach of regional press would enable it to resist the advertising downturn and avoid the sharp drops seen in other media.
