David Pattison, the co-founder and former CEO of media agency PHD and current non-executive chairman of Newsworks, is joining marketing tech company Rezonence as its chairman.
Pattison joins after Rezonence announced a partnership earlier in the summer with Trinity Mirror which will see the publisher employ Rezonence’s tech to maximise revenue from its digital inventory.
Rezonence provides a new way to serve online ads, offering a route between ad-funded free access models and closed paywalls to help fund premium content.
The technology operates as a value exchange by asking audiences to engage with brand messages in return for access to elements of an online article or video content across any device.
“When I’m asked to help companies I look for three things: a smart management team I want to spend time with, a product or products with a real difference and an opportunity for me to make a difference,” said Pattison
“Rezonence has all of these things and more. I’m really looking forward to bringing my experience to the team and to help the business achieve all of the ambitions it has for itself.”
Prash Naidu, founding director and CEO of Rezonence, added: “We are delighted that David, with his invaluable knowledge and vast experience of the media and business world, has chosen Rezonence as a company he wants to work with.
“He will be a key asset to myself and the rest of the management team as we take the next steps in our fast growing business which is to continue to drive our client base and revolutionise the way publishers monetise their content and advertisers engage with consumers online.”
