Showcase Squares Launch Across London Underground

Viacom Outdoor has secured the HomeChoice television network as the first advertiser to use its newly launched premium poster format across the London Underground network.

The portfolio of sites, called showcase squares (pictured), differ from the standard London Underground poster sites in that they are based on a distinctive three square-metre, scrolling format.

Viacom Outdoor plans to erect a limited edition of around 75 of the showcase squares sites across the busiest Tube stations on the London Underground network, including Oxford Circus, Victoria and Liverpool Street.

The showcase square are the latest in a line of new initiatives to be unveiled by Viacom Outdoor over the last few months. Last week the poster contractor secured Ariel for an innovative advertising and sponsorship campaign designed to dominate Southfields Tube station during this year’s Wimbledon tennis championships (see Viacom Turns Southfields Tube Into Tennis Court).

The latest figures from the Advertising Association reveal a positive outlook for the outdoor industry. Forecasts suggest the sector will see advertising expenditure increase by a solid 8.7% this year, making it one of the fastest growing mediums.
