Sky Adds Customer Control With Interactive Accounts

Sky Set Top Box Sky has launched a new service allowing customers to tweak their subscription, view their latest bill and keep up with new developments at the broadcaster all via their television and remote control.

The new MySky service is accessed through the Interactive button on viewers’ handsets and offers access their Sky statement, the ability to subscribe to Sky’s loyalty credit card, the Sky Card, and access information on Sky products and services.

Customers can also find out how to upgrade their Sky subscription and read FAQs about technical problems, billing, equipment, Sky Box Office and interactive issues.

Ian Shepherd, managing director of Sky Interactive explained that the new service was important in giving customers access to, and easy control over, their subscription choices. He said: “My Sky is a quick and convenient way for our customers to manage their Sky account. It’s an alternative to picking up the telephone and another way for customers to communicate with us.”

Sky has worked hard to extend its interactive services in recent months, with customers now able to access celebrity interviews and news, games and puzzles, text, chat and email, NHS Direct, The Lotto, TV and film news and daily horoscopes via their remote.

Last year saw the broadcaster overhaul its interactive portal Sky Active, redesigning the service to deliver a more televisual experience through increased video content and a magazine-style format with on-demand entertainment and information (see Sky Revamps Interactive Services To Engage Viewers).
