SUBtv Signs Fairtrade Foundation For Live Music Promo

SUBtv Student TV Network, SUBtv has agreed a deal with the Fairtrade Foundation to make an exclusive live music promotion for students.

The 12 to 18 month contract will see live sets and events planed, aiming to publicise Fairtrade, while introducing new musical acts to the student audience.

Commenting on the initiative, Paul Miles, managing director of SUBtv said: “Students are a natural target audience for Fairtrade and our network is the best way of reaching them directly and regularly.”

Tanya Lowry, events and promotions co-ordinator at the Fairtrade Foundation added: “We are delighted that the bands are showing their support for Fairtrade and introducing a new audience to its merits.”

Last month saw SUBtv announce plans to tempt potential card sharks away from their studies to engage in a cross-media poker tournament, comprising on air and online activity to position potential advertisers alongside one of the nation’s increasingly popular gambling activities (see SUBtv Hands Advertisers Student Poker Deal).

The university television network continues to go from strength to strength, with SUBtv recently enabling a new MMS-to-screen facility to offer advertisers another way to reach young audiences, running SMS campaigns through the new system (see SUBtv Launches MMS To Screen Facility).

The technology allows students to send an image and message of up to 150 characters, which is displayed on the SUBtv plasma screens at universities across the UK, reaching 1,6 million students from the new academic year starting in September.
