The Telegraph group is launching an interactive promotion with John Smith’s ale which is giving readers the opportunity to write sports features.
The campaign, designed to reinforce the current TV adverts, will invite readers through newspaper, online and direct mail promotion, to submit “no-nonsense” 100-word articles about top televised sporting events.
The “Just ‘Ave It” campaign will start in September, and chosen articles will be posted on the Telegraph‘s sports web-site. The best four entries will then be invited to write about a major sporting event in half-page press adverts booked by John Smith’s in the Telegraph’s Monday sports supplement.
James Mann, strategic planner at the Telegraph, commented: “This campaign is a great opportunity to extend the longevity of the campaign and allow Telegraph readers truly to interact with both brands.”
The Telegraph Group signed a similar advertising deal with Jacob’s Creek to coincide with the Wimbledon Lawn Tennis competition (see Telegraph Signs Wimbledon Ad Deal With Jacobs Creek).
