Trinity Continues Online Recruitment Acquisitions

SecsInTheCity.com Newspaper giant Trinity Mirror has acquired Paldonsay Ltd, the parent company of High Street Direct and owner of SecsintheCity.com, for £3.3 million, giving the company control of the leading internet recruitment site for secretarial and administrative jobs.

The acquisition builds on Future’s growing online recruitment portfolio, following the company’s purchase of the UK’s second largest online recruitment firm, Hotgroup (see Trinity Buys Online Recruitment Site).

Trinity claims the acquisition of four year old

The recruitment site will now benefit from cross-promotional activity across Trinity’s portfolio of newspapers, and its growing online network.

Commenting on the acquisition, Sly Bailey, chief executive of Trinity Mirror, said: “This is a great brand which fits extremely well with our recruitment sites across the UK. Digital is a key driver of our growth strategy and recruitment is an important pillar of our advertising revenue, which makes SecsintheCity.com another perfect fit for Trinity Mirror.

“Our strategy is a careful mix of organic and M&A opportunities which so far this year has seen the launch of 36 new magazines, newspapers and online services and four important acquisitions.”

Jon Grocott, director and founder of SecsintheCity.com, commented: “This represents a fantastic opportunity to grow the SecsintheCity.com brand using the power and scale of the UK’s largest newspaper publishing group. The future is very exciting.”
