Starting April with a spring in their step, UK commercial broadcasters recorded healthy increases in revenue, with all but one down on the previous year.
Channel 4 saw the biggest increase, up 16.8% to a little under £54.6 million, closely followed by ITV Breakfast which was up 16.3% to cross the £6 million mark.
Continuing to lead the commercial broadcaster market, the main ITV channel was up a modest 3.9% to £125.2 million – more than double that of second place-holder Channel 4.
Not such good news for Channel 5 which was down -7.5%, losing a little under £2 million along the way.
Overall total terrestrial (including ITV Breakfast) was up a healthy 5.8%, while total satellite was up 6.2%.
