TV market round-up: August 2016

As expected of the quieter summer months, August witnessed a host of revenue declines in the commercial TV market, with one exception.

Bucking the trend entirely, total satellite revenues were up by a solid 26.2% – to more than £169m.

Meanwhile, Channel 4 recorded the steepest decline, down -4.8% compared with the same period last year. The broadcaster recorded revenues of £41.6m.

ITV was down -1.1% to almost £94.4m and ITV Breakfast was down just -0.7% to almost £4.2m.
