BBC One performed well last night, with EastEnders, Holby City and Richard Hammond’s Invisible Worlds all dominating their timeslots.
On BBC One at 7.30pm, EastEnders hit a peak of 8.6 million viewers.
Holby City, on for an hour at 8pm, had a peak audience of 5.7 million viewers, with an average of around 5.6 million tuning in for the entire hour (a 23.3% share).
It easily beat ITV1’s offering, Cops with Cameras, on at the same time, which could only manage an average audience figure of under 2.9 million (a 1.9% share).
At 9pm, Richard Hammond’s Invisible Worlds on BBC One drew a peak audience of 4.2 million, with this figure dropping slightly to an average of 4 million across its hour running time, probably because people turned off when they saw the host milking a spider.
On ITV1 at the same time, crime investigation drama Law and Order: UK picked up a peak of almost 2.5 million viewers – a 10.1% share of viewing.
