Two Thirds Of US Small Businesses Have Web Access

Two thirds of all small businesses in the US now have access to the internet and half of these have their own website, according to research from Dun & Bradstreet published this month.

The research shows that the majority of these businesses still have a dial-up connection to the web, but as 60% plan to increase their use of the Net they also intend to upgrade to a broadband service.

Seventy percent of those surveyed claimed that the investment in their website is justified in terms of sales and customer service, but – not surprisingly – most businesses do not intend to increase their website spend this year.
