The number of consumer magazine launches in the UK during the first two months of 2002 rose by 61% year on year, according to the April issue of Seymour‘s Monthly Monitor, as reported by the Periodical Publishers Association (PPA).
“The increase is primarily made up of bi-monthly and quarterly titles, possibly indicating that publishers are becoming increasingly cautious about how a new title is launched by allowing longer periods for a title to sell through,” says the PPA.
