US Broadband Subscriptions Set To Multiply, Says Yankee Group

The US broadband subscriber market will grow 361% by the end of 2007, according to a new study from The Yankee Group.

The research firm found that cable modem is the leading broadband technology among American customers and businesses with 58% of the market. DSL comes in second with one-third of all lines while satellite and MMDS have great potential but have made little commercial impact thus far.

“Emerging technologies have the potential to shake up this forecast in the 2004-2007 time frame, however, over the next two to three years, the market share for broadband access technologies is unlikely to change substantially,” commented Matt Davis, Broadband Access Technologies Director.
