Wyndeman Wins £3 Million Emap Contract

Wyndeman Wins £3 Million Emap Contract

UK specialist print group, Wyndeham Press, has been awarded a printing contract by Emap worth over £3 million for the next three years, with the deal significantly expanding Wyndeham’s relationship with Emap.

A total of 28 Emap magazines will be included in the contract, including monthly magazines, Today’s Golfer, Golf World, Health Plus, Your Horse, Practical Photography, Landrover Owner International and Classic Cars.

Commenting on the deal, Andy Franks, group production officer of Emap said: “We’ve been impressed with the investment Wyndeham has made in its printing businesses and we like the overall strategic direction that the Group is taking.”

Paul Utting, chief executive of Wyndeham added: “Our strategy is to focus on the medium run, multi-pagination titles and we are very pleased with the outcome of the tender.”

Emap recently announced an increase in revenue of 6% for the half of the year ended 30 September reaching £554 million, despite a 5% downturn in operating profit and a 2% drop in pre-tax profit, hitting £103 million and £95 million respectively (see Emap Reports 6% Increase In Revenue).

Underlying revenue for the media group rose by a slight 1% in the stated time period, while underlying operating profit was down by 4%, largely due to a weak performance from Emap’s French news-stand division.
