Total television revenues were up across the board in August, with just one exception – Channel 5.

Post World Cup July saw falls in viewing share for both BBC1 and ITV1. BBC1 posted a slight decrease amongst all home viewing share, whilst ITV1 saw its total drop substantially on 2009’s figures.
The World Cup provided a significant boost to ITV1’s total television revenue in June. The broadcaster enjoyed a 43.7% year on year rise to £109 million.
June viewing was dominated by the FIFA World Cup, which kicked-off on Friday 11 with a spectacular opening ceremony showcasing the best of host nation South Africa.
May figures show that ITV1’s revenue was up 22.4% year on year, to £123 million.
