A new edition of the ITC Code of Advertising Standards Practice is published today. It remains basically unchanged with the principle difference relating to the restriction on times of transmission of advertisements for medicines, vitamins and dietary supplements. From last October advertisements falling into this category could only be transmitted after 9pm.ITC: 071 824 7743.
Shares in Anglia Television rose by 12p to 329p yesterday, amid fears that it could be the most vulnerable of the television companies should the rules on takeover bids be relaxed. By 1pm today the shares had risen another 1p.
The Saatchi & Saatchi £73m rights issue has had a 92% take-up. The money raised will be used in a variety of ways. £36.5m will go towards reducing bank debt, £19m will buy minority stakes in European advertising subsidiaries, £10.5m will be used to strengthen media buying and £7m will be used for new technology.

Granada Television has revealed profits of £21m for the 6-months to March 27, an increase of 19% on last year. The Granada Group as a whole recorded profits of £68.1m, up by 28% on 1992.
Carlton Television’s arts magazine programme Big City has sponsored a listings guide to be bound into the London edition of the Thomson Directory. The Big City Insiders Guide covers restaurants, cinemas and theatres and carries some display advertising. The guide will appear in the 1993/4 edition of the directory to be published on June 21.
