The Government has announced that it is to impose a ban on pornographic channel, Red Hot Television, making the supply of decoders used to receive the channel a criminal offence. The station, which is received by over 25,000 subscribers in this country says it will fight the decision in the courts.
Yorkshire-Tyne Tees Television was given a warning by the ITC on Friday that it must continue to produce at least 90% of its regional programming in the North East. Tyne Tees is now believed to have reaffirmed its initial licence obligations.
Sales for the first issue of IPC’s TV & Satellite Week have come out at around 200,000, 50,000 less than forecast. Satellite TV Europe, meanwhile, has recorded a new ABC of 269,040.
